Driving the Irish Countryside
Driving through small colorful Irish towns. On the main road in one village the newly picked up hire car, a diesel Hyundai, the engine stopped in traffic. We were unable to move with a gathering line of cars behind. Leaving us wondering what to do for a good minute. I pressed the go pedal, immediately the engine started and the car moved forward. No thanks to the car hire staff for not telling me the car has a fuel saving mode.
Drove along a short detour to Tipperary Town. Walked around Tipp Town Shopping Centre housing a small cluster of retail shops in Tipperary. Horse breeding and racing is very prominent in County Tipperary. Races held at the Tipperary Racecourse are often broadcast live on dedicated racing television channels in Australia. One roadside signage said you have come a long way. Can't be much further away than Melbourne, southern Australia.
