DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, GET ROYAL LODGING'S AT KRYAL CASTLE
Kryal Castle
Built in 1973 as a medieval fantasy themed park on eleven hectares of elevated land. Located at the foot of Mount Warrenheip twelve km. from central Ballarat.
The castle grounds are meticulously maintained, with every corner exuding an air of grandeur and history. Beyond the immaculate cleanliness, the grounds come alive with the daily spectacle of jousting events that transport visitors back to a time of chivalry and valor. These events are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the array of activities available – from archery contests to medieval feasts, there is never a dull moment within the castle walls.
Moreover, the castle hosts special themed events that promise an immersive experience for all attendees. Whether it's a Renaissance fair or a magical masquerade ball, these events offer a glimpse into a bygone era, allowing guests to escape the present and revel in the enchantment of the past. These events are open to all who hold a valid ticket, welcoming one and all to partake in the festivities.
During the cooler months, a mystical ambiance descends upon the castle as fog and low clouds shroud the surroundings, creating an ethereal atmosphere that only enhances the visual allure. The absence of modern noise pollution further transports visitors to a time of tranquility and serenity, far removed from the hustle and bustle of busy highways and urban clamor.
Exploring the castle grounds, visitors will stumble upon quaint medieval-themed shops offering an array of treasures waiting to be discovered. From handcrafted trinkets to authentic period costumes, these shops provide a glimpse into the craftsmanship and artistry of yesteryears. Additionally, for those seeking an overnight stay, the castle offers modern guest suite lodgings adorned with regal castle décor, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious retreat fit for royalty.
A brick and grated steel walkway main entry is over a moat and large sturdy doors open to the interior reception area. As seen in the photo's below. The King and Queens chairs may be approached and sat upon by visitors. An embedded sword in rocks is unable to be pulled out and is attached to the rocks underneath between a small gap. There are many free standing buildings. Some are multi level. The tavern is quite large and can easily cater for many people.
Kryal Castle is open only on weekend's and peak times. One hour's drive from Melbourne along the Western Freeway.
